are British people boring?
by Ellie in.
i've just read a news article that stated that in a recent international survey, britain was voted the best country in the world, but the british people the most boring.. i do wonder what people think of us brits, they seem to have some wild idea that we all drink tea and play cricket, they seem quite unaware of the loutish behaviour that many of us are embaressed about.. what do you think?

Boring ??? Us ?? We're all mad as march hairs !
Although we do our stiff upper lip and tea drinking britishness I think it's nicer to be called boring than lager louts - obviously people in the spanish and greek touristy areas didn't do the survey - thank god !
I'm not sure about the arrogant thing though? I think all countries have an air of arrogance about them - or am i wrong?
Where was this survey? I could do with a laugh

Alien scientology thread, or - The day the earth kept going...
by james_woods infirst, let me say that i really have not been here long enough to know how often this ufo subject gets done.
however, our net population seems to be quite tolerant of illuminati/masonic theorists and even the belief of a godlike quality in michael moore - so here goes.... my ex-scientology friend has recently suffered a personal loss.
a childhood friend passed away this weekend at age 58 from an extremely virulent form of tongue and throat cancer.

Hi James
Good to see you again.
To be honest I'm not about the whole scientology belief thing but i've always thought that there must be something out there - we can't be arrogant enough to assume that we're the only life form in that great expanse. Naturally my parents poo pooed the idea being the good little jws they are but I have to admit the subject fascinates me but I always manage to miss the decent documentaries about it all.

That's fantastic CS101 !
I sent a chap flowers once and he was really surprised. My current boyfriend doesn't like things like that though. My on the other hand, well I love them ! It really cheers you up and makes your day.
Enjoy them, you never know when it'll stop.

Good to be back .
Clive Owen's great in it - he was a hot favourite to be the next Bond but this film makes you realise why he's too good for it !

And yes, I know us Brits are a bit behind the times probably by about 2 years after the US showings.
I have to say I thought it was fantastic ! Lots of cool twists. Plus great to see a few brits in it as well!

My boyfriend's absolutely hoocked on PC games. He used to work for EA as a tester so he's played quite a few - I've heard him talking about Fear, he really liked it. He's heavily into the on-line games though - he tends to play quite late into the night when all the US chaps and chapesses start playing - he's really into Eve, Star Wars Galaxies and another one that I can't remember.
I prefer tetris myself (or the Formula 1 driving games of course).
